This 3-port USB/ 3.0 Quick Charger worked really well for me; I did not experience any issues with the RJ45 Ethernet to USB connection. The matted black aluminum casing is slick and tough enough to handle most situations. It worked right away with my Microsoft Surface Pro without any issues. I've only used this adapter with powered devices and I think that is key to get a good connection, as it is important to note this is not an independently powered device. A great idea for anyone with a laptop that doesn't have Ethernet capability.
