Product Review: Bosch JS572EK 7.2 Amp Jig Saw Kit (Style: Top Handle)

This model has been out a for a few years and I was finally in need of a replacement jigsaw. Bosch offers this model with the Top Handle as well as the Bosch JS572EB Barrel Grip. Model numbers ending in “L” (JS572EL – JS572EBL) include the L-BOXX tool case.

Made in Switzerland, this model offers excellent blade control, most professional grade jigsaws have a slotted roller for the blade to ride in, for stabilization. This Bosch saw is unique with its two slotted roller guides, one above the other – the lower roller hovers just above the work surface. The two rollers minimize blade defection without the heat-creating friction of steel blocks pinching the blade while also supporting the blade from the back. In other words, the blade is stabilized at three points, the blade holder and the two rollers.

At only 5 pounds 10 ounces, this is lighter than most jigsaws and yet still features a powerful 7.2 amp motor. The LED does a great job of showing the cut-line and has a push-button on the top-front of the handle. The handle is very comfortable and has minimal vibration due to counterbalancing mechanism.  The saw has a 4-position blade orbit switch for different blade strokes from smooth to aggressive cuts allowing you to choose the correct setting for the material. The control knob at the back of the motor sets the maximum blade speed from 1 (slow) to 6 (very fast); feedback circuitry maintains full power at all speeds.
